Ipswich extend Derby streak, Reading cruise
Ipswich extended their remarkable run at Derby with a 1-0 victory, while Reading hammered Barnsley 3-0 in the Championship on Tuesday.
Callum Connolly's early strike was enough to give Ipswich their seventh win in 10 games at Pride Park stretching back to 2006.
Ipswich were ahead in the fifth minute when Connolly's glancing header from a corner struck the underside of the bar and crossed the line before Scott Carson clawed the ball out.
At the Madejski Stadium, Reading went two goals in front inside the opening half-hour through a Dave Edwards header and long-range effort from Joey van den Berg.
Barnsley rallied after the interval but their challenge ended when substitute Jon Dadi Bodvarsson headed home two minutes from time.
Reading's first win in four matches and only their third at home in the league this season moved them above Barnsley into mid-table.
