Serie A rejects Viola appeal on Zarate

Serie A disciplinary officials on Wednesday rejected an appeal by Fiorentina to reduce Mauro Zarate's three-match league ban for violent conduct. Zarate was one of three players sent off in a trouble-hit finish to Fiorentina's 2-1 win over Inter Milan two weeks ago, when the Argentinian was shown a straight red card for grabbing Jeison Murillo by the neck in the closing minutes. The former West Ham forward has since sat out a 3-2 win at Atalanta and a 1-1 draw with Napoli and he will now miss Friday's clash at Champions League qualification rivals Roma after the Florence's club's appeal was rejected.
