France warm up for World Cup against Russia, Scotland
France's national women's football team will warm up for the 2015 World Cup with two additional friendlies against Russia on May 22 in Chateauroux and Scotland on May 28 in Nancy, the French federation confirmed Tuesday.
France are already scheduled to play an international friendly against World Cup hosts Canada in Bondoufle, in the southern Paris suburbs, on Thursday.
Philippe Bergeroo's side are ranked third in the FIFA rankings and among the favourites for the tournament which takes place in Canada from June 6 to July 5.
Russia, ranked 22 by FIFA, were beaten 3-1 by France during the European championships, with the French losing just twice in their last nine meetings.
France have only been beaten once in their fifteen clashes with Scotland. Their last meeting in March 2014 ended in a 1-1 draw.
France are drawn in Group F in the 24-team World Cup along with England, Colombia and Mexico.
Neither Russia nor Scotland are competing in the tournament in which Japan are the defending champions.
