Former Socceroos defender Adrian Madaschi will leave South Korea to join the Newcastle Jets in Australia's A-League, the club said on Friday.

Madaschi, 31, joins the team on a one-year deal from K-League side Jeju United, where he made 48 appearances in two seasons.

Madaschi has spent the majority of his career playing overseas for clubs in Italy and Scotland.

The tall centre-back has played for the Socceroos five times, scoring two goals.
