Rodgers has brought back feelgood factor: Gordon
Brendan Rodgers' appointment as Celtic coach has sparked a resurgence in enthusiasm among the Scottish champions' fans, claimed goalkeeper Craig Gordon on Monday.
Rodgers -- who took Liverpool to within a whisker of their first English title since 1990 in 2013/14 before a loss of form last term resulted in him being sacked -- replaced Ronny Deila in May.
The Norwegian resigned following criticism of the club's poor European performances and being beaten in the semi-finals of both domestic cup competitions.
Rodgers was unveiled in front of 13,000 fans in May and Scottish international goalkeeper Gordon says the sense of expectation is growing that the Northern Irish coach can restore the lustre brought to the club by Martin O'Neill and then Neil Lennon.
"I was across at Celtic Park this morning and the staff are talking about it and the queue for season tickets was round the corner," said Gordon.
"It's a huge appointment and it's brought a real feel-good factor around the club at the moment.
"Hopefully if we can carry that into the start of the season it will set us up for a big campaign," added the 33-year-old.
Gordon says the Celtic fans could look forward to the attractive style of football which Rodgers -- who has been given £15million (19m euros, $21.6m) to spend on new players -- made a trademark of at Swansea and Liverpool.
"He is known for playing exciting, attractive football," said Gordon.
"As a player going back to work under that and to see what his ideas are and how he wants the team to set up, that is very exciting.
"I'm looking forward to getting back and seeing exactly how he wants me to play personally and how he sees the team going forward.
"It's a great challenge and one I can't wait to get started on."
Rodgers -- who is on a 12 month rolling contract worth £50,000 ($72,000, 64,000 euros) a week -- will face his first test in the Champions League second qualifying round in mid-July.
